    What is Scorpion Solitaire?

Scorpion is a Solitaire game played with one deck of cards, similar to both Spider Solitaire and Yukon. Scorpion Solitaire is a traditional one-deck patience game that is similar to Spider Solitaire but regarded as more difficult this playing cards  Unlike other solitaire games, the majority of the cards are dealt face up from the start, and these cards are difficults game, so every action counts.  The goal is to create four full sequences, each going from King to Ace and using the same suit.  This makes Scorpion Solitaire an excellent test of planning and problem-solving abilities.

    How to play Scorpion Solitaire

The game starts with seven card columns. These playing cards are for spider solitaire. Some of the cards in the first four columns are very easily played games are face down, while the rest are face up.  If the sequence is legitimate, you can move any face-up card as well as all of the cards stacked underneath it.  When you are stuck, you can deal the remaining cards from the stockpile to bring a new twist to the game.

    Basic play steps:

    • Arrange the cards in four (K-A) sequences of the same suit.
    •  Move decreasing card sequences inside the same suit.
    •  Only a King can be placed in an empty column, so use them strategically.
    •  Keep an eye out for hidden cards to unlock new moves

    The Scorpion Solitaire Rules

    Move Rules:

    •  Any card and its pile can be moved to a card one rank higher in the same suit.
    • The empty column rule states that only Kings can occupy empty tableau slots.
    • When you run out of moves, use the stockpile to deal one card to each tableau column.

    Winning Rule:

    • To win the game, complete four sequences from King to Ace.

     Objective

    • The goal is to create sequences of cards from Ace to King by suit in the tableau, which will then be moved to the foundation when complete.

    The Setup and Play Area

There are three main areas in the game:

Tableau: This is the area where there are seven columns of cards. The 4 columns have 6 cards, with the last four cards turned face-up. The last 3 columns have 7 cards each, all turned face-up.

Stockpile: There are three cards in the stockpile that, when played, will be dealt to the first 3 columns of the tableau.

Foundation piles: These are the 4 piles at the top of the game. When cards are placed by suit in descending order from King to Ace, they are automatically placed in the foundation.

    Available moves

    • Similar to Yukon, a card and all the cards beneath it can be moved on top of the bottom card of a tableau column if it is one rank lower and of the same suit. For example, if you have a 5 of Hearts and an 8 of Spades underneath it, both cards can be moved together on top of a 6 of Hearts that sits at the bottom of the tableau.
    • Similar to Spider, move cards to build sequences from King to Ace by suit in the tableau. When that’s complete, those cards will move from the tableau and into the foundation.
    • Face-down cards are turned face-up when there are no cards below them.
    • If a tableau column is empty, a King can be placed there.
    • The 3 stockpile cards can be dispensed at any time and will be placed on top of the cards at the bottom of the first 3 tableau columns.
    • You win when all cards are moved to the foundation.

    Strategy

To win a Scorpion Solitaire game, you’ll want to pay close attention and follow these tips:

    • Prioritize moving cards to reveal the face-down cards and make them playable.
    • Only deal cards from the stockpile when you have no other moves.
    • Avoid having lower-ranking cards above higher-ranking cards in the same column. This will make sequencing these cards challenging.
    • Free up columns. This way, you can move a King, start building new sequences, and free up cards in the process.
    • Look out for deadlocks. If 9 of Hearts, 7 of Hearts, and 8 of Hearts are in order, the game is lost, as you will never be able to sequence those cards. Similarly, if there is a 6 of Diamonds followed by a Jack of Spades in one column and a Queen of Spades followed by a 5 of Hearts in another column, the game is lost as you won’t be able to sequence those costs.
